Positive thinking can change your life

Everyone will agree with the saying...The power of positive thinking is remarkable.

In fact, the idea that your mind can change your world almost seems to good to be true. Many people have experienced AND whitnessed the good that focusing on the positive can bring. And it is not difficult to achieve.

You can start here, by asking you this quesion... 'What does happy and successful people think about all day'? The answer is quite simple...Happy and healthy people think about what they want, and how to get it, most of the time.  The feeling you get when you achieved something is also a good motivation to stay positive and have good thoughts.  In this way developing a positive attitude can truly change your entire life and the world around you.

When you think and talk about what you want and how to get it, you feel happier and in greater control of your life. When you think about something that makes you happy, your brain actually releases endorphins, the feel good hormone, which give you a generalized feeling of well-being and success.

How to think positive? Based on psychological tests, happy people seems to have a special quality that enables them to live a better life than the average.  The quality of optimism is the keyword here! THe best news about optimism is that it is a learnable quality.  That means you can learn how to think positive by adopting an optimistic mindset.  By the law of cause and effect, if you do and say what other happy, healthy people with positive attitudes do and say, you will soon feel better about yourself, feel the same way they feel and get the same results.

It is important to find good in this world.  It is easy to complain and moan about everything that happens in your country or around you.  By thinking and complaining in a negative way, bring you down and soon you ll feel depressed and not in the mood for anything. Rather look for the good in every problem and difficulty.  A problem is a challenge on your path, and to take in on with a negative attitute, won't help solve the matter.

If you look for something good or beneficial in a person or situation, you will find it.  Possitive people, see the possitive, but negative people just see the negative.  It is difficult to see the good in a person or situation, if you dont look at it in a positive way.

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity.  The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty" -W Churchill

"We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses" - Alphonse Karr

"You can, you should, and if you're brave enough to win, you will" -Stephen King

"What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? Our attitute towards it.  Every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunity" -J.Sidlow Baxter

Much of what we see in the world is a reflection of how we feel inside. The brain is literally creating your experience moment to moment, and part of this is by top-down processes.  This means that your prefrontal cortex, the newest part of your brain, which deals with your thoughts, is relaying information to your mammalian cortex, which handles emotions.  These emotions then go to inform deeper and older parts of the brain, including sensory experience and pain.  This means that when we say something possitive, attitude can recreate your reality.  It is not just a metaphor, it is a physiological fact!

Gratitude is a key tenet in all major philosophies, religions and schools of thought.  That is because graititude is a foundation of positive thinking.  We only have a limited amount of focus, so when you are able to be appreciative of what you have, your brain is able to give life and energy thoughts about what you dont't have.  Seeing events in your life as gifts, allow you to perceive how thay may help you grow and become a better person, and the application of this attitude during tough times is the hallmark of resilience.

Surround yourself with the right people.  You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.  There is an inherent truth to that, as we, as social creatures, pick up on the habits, behaviours, and attitudes of those around us.  What that means is that if you want the strength and positivity to get through anything, you must keep your circle of friends and associates as healthy and positive as you can.  Wherever possiblt, you must remove toxic relationships from your life, regardless of how tough it may be.  And in situations such as work where you may not have control, you must learn how to practice positivily so it spreads to those around you.

"People inspire you or the drain you, pick them wisely" -Hans Hasen

"I think it is important to get your surroundings as well as yourself into a positive state - meaning surround yourself with positive people, not the kind who are negative and jealous of everything you do." -Heidi Klum

"Surround yourself with the dreamers, the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don't see it yourself." -Edmund Lee

"Don't hang with negative people.  They will pull you down with them.  Instead, invite them into your light and together you will both shine strong." -L.F. Young

Positivity is an attractive quality, because positivity is so infectious.  It naturally becomes a quality that other people want in their lives.  Those of us who can keep a positive attitude in the face of tough times, become an ispiration for everyone else.  Positivity is an attractive personality trait and can go far when it comes to personal and professional relationships,  If you are not an inherently positive person, there are a number of ways by which you can change this;  writing, meditation, positive affirmations and integrating more play and positiveness into your life are just a few ways you can rewire your brain to be more focused on the positive aspects of your life!
