How your Immune System protects you.

Your Immune System is your body's version of the military sword to defend against all who threaten it.

It protects you against disease, infection and helps you to recover after illness or injury.

A river of blood and lymph transports all the elements of the immune system through your body to do its job where they detect something trying to destroy.

Your white blood cells charge into battle at any sign of trouble.  There are two different types of white blood cells. Phagocytes and Lymphocytes

Phagocytes target organisms that cause disease. When phatogytes absorb a pathogen, they send out a chemical that helps lymphocytes ot identify the pathogen. Each pathogen carries a type of antigen.

Each lyphocyte carries antibodies meant to fight the antigens carried by pathogens.
